Administrado por via intravenosa anfotericina B é nefrotóxico e normalmente pode causar diminuição da função renal e anormalidades, incluindo azotemia, hipo - e hipercalemia, hipomagnesemia, hyposthenuria, acidose tubular renal, e nefrocalcinose. A função Renal deve ser monitorada em todos os pacientes recebendo terapia intravenosa com anfotericina B, mas em particular, os pacientes com insuficiência renal preexistente. Reduções de dosagem são recomendados. A creatinina sérica, PÃO, potássio e magnésio, os níveis devem ser avaliados com frequência, e a dosagem ajustada ou interrompido de acordo.
