Consumidor:

Hepatotoxicidade incluindo acidose láctica, hepatomegalia grave com esteatose, a hepatite fulminante e insuficiência hepática tem sido associada com o uso de alguns inibidores nucleosídeos inibidores da transcriptase reversa (NRTIs), sozinho ou em combinação com outros agentes anti-retrovirais. A terapia com NRTIs deve ser administrado com cautela em pacientes com doença hepática pré-existente, uma história de abuso de álcool, ou a hepatite. A terapia deve ser suspensa caso clínico ou de achados laboratoriais sugestivos de acidose láctica ou pronunciado ocorrer hepatotoxicidade. O uso do abacavir é contra-indicado em pacientes com insuficiência hepática moderada a grave como a sua segurança e eficácia não foram estabelecidas em pacientes.
