Consumidor:Os corticosteróides podem causar úlcera péptica e gastrointestinais (GI) hemorragia, geralmente quando administrada em altas doses ou por períodos prolongados. No entanto, mesmo convencional dosagens podem agravar os sintomas em pacientes com história de úlcera péptica. Atraso na cicatrização de úlceras também tem sido relatado. A terapia com corticosteróides devem ser evitados ou administrados com cautela em pacientes com ativa ou latente úlceras pépticas ou outros fatores de risco para hemorragia GI. Alguns médicos recomendam o uso profilático de anti-ácidos ou H2-antagonistas entre as refeições, quando grandes doses de corticosteróides são necessárias.
