Octreotide inibe a contratilidade da vesícula biliar e podem alterar a composição bile. Uma média de 29% dos pacientes desenvolvem novos cálculos biliares durante o octreotide terapia, e até 20% dos pacientes desenvolvem biliar lodo. Associada a pancreatite tem sido relatado em casos raros. Vesícula biliar hypercontractility, resultando por vezes em cólica biliar, tem sido relatada após a retirada do octreotide.
